How to distinguish marble from granite? Why can't marble be used for dry hanging of exterior walls?
Because the two kinds of stone are produced in different ways, their appearance, chemical composition and strength are quite different.
Strength: Calcium carbonate is the main component of marble, so it is easy to be weathered. Low strength often finds that there are cracks in the nature of the stone, which can not be used for exterior walls for interior decoration. In order to increase the strength of marble, there are often viscous plastic or nylon meshes on the back; granite is mainly composed of silica, which has high strength and good stability. This is widely used for dry hanging of exterior walls. It should be pointed out that some limestone is usually classified as marble, which has more external hangings and better effect.
