1.How can you tell quality of granite?
Thick granite is considered higher quality (and more durable) than thin granite. Quality countertops should be around 1 to 1 ¼-inch thick in order to provide the necessary durability associated with natural stone. Take a close look at granite to see if you notice any dings, dents, scratches or uneven surfaces.
2.Does coffee stain granite?
Coffee, whether from spills or cup rings, can leave stains on granite counter tops. When possible, wipe up stains as soon as they occur to prevent staining. Stains that are not wiped up immediately require additional attention.
3.
How strong is marble?
As a result, marble is less porous and slightly stronger than limestone, but still less durable than granite. Depending on the limestone and the mineral combination within the marble, most marble rates from three to five on the Mohs hardness scale.
